The Brickworks is a great place for a group visit. Whether you are a club or society we can help to create a perfect day-trip in Hampshire. Ideally situated on the South Coast we are within a 30 minute drive time of Southampton, Portsmouth and Winchester and have great links to the motorway, bus and rail networks.

We host all kinds of group visits ranging from car clubs, arts & photography groups, heritage societies and many more. We have a really fascinating story to tell about the history of bricks and the grade II* listed brickworks we are based in.

A tour of the old brickworks takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour (longer with questions!) and many groups then take the opportunity to wander round the rest of the museum at their leisure. We charge £8 per person (2024 pricing) which covers the admission fee and the guided tour.

There are also lots of opportunities for sharing a visit with other local attractions. Within easy reach are

Bursledon Windmill – a working traditional windmill
Swanwick Nature Reserve – our old clay pits now flooded to form a series of lakes
Further afield there is a wealth of steam and industrial heritage to be found in Hampshire so why not make a day or weekend of it.

There is plenty of free parking including coach parking. WCs and disabled WCs are available on site.

Group visit

Do you book talks for your group? We can do either online talks or in-person – depending on your requirements.

We have a team of volunteers who love to talk about the history of our fascinating site. The talk is called: 20 Million Bricks and covers the history of the family who built the factory and the men who once worked here.

To arrange a talk please contact us via the website. We ask for a donation for talks and they last approximately 1 hour – if there are lots of questions it can be longer!
